Mid-Level Construction Inspector

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include leading data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have the following:

NCDOT Certifications

ITS Experience

ICC Certifications

AND one of the following:

A bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field

An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience

No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with any/all of the following:

Leading inspectors performing highway materials sampling and testing

Oversight of interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications as relates to construction field tasks

SiteManager or other construction software

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
