Your Impact

The Software Deployment Engineer will work as part of the Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Project team to ensure that the software for each customised, multifunction, CBM System are successfully designed and deployed to electrical utilities and industrial customers worldwide.

In the configuration of a CBM System this role will require cooperation with internal associates and their teams across many departments, including design, operations, manufacturing, peers from our global organisation and our worldwide customer base, to implement the software configuration for system design.

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:

Deliver and support the expansion of Qualitrol's software products to customers.

Acquire an understanding of each CBM system’s overview leading to a more detailed knowledge of the software and the underlying communications infrastructures involved.

Provide feedback and log new feature requests and communicate that to the product management team.

Complete configuration analysis & debugging of deployments.

Support software deployment and successful commissioning until sign-off.

Develop, implement, and successfully test configuration that binds the various disparate elements into a homogeneous CBM system.

Perform analytical reviews, recommend, and implement corrective actions for exceptional conditions.

Monitors and analyses previous projects to ensure customer platform usability.

Assistance to our Field Service colleagues during commissioning and post-commissioning of CBM systems.

Provide support to internal and external customers for CBM system queries and resolving issues responding via emails, verbally or via remote access.

Support regional sales interaction with customers and participate in regional marketing initiatives and lead generation.

Conducts calls and occasional travel to customer sites as required.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Computer Science or Engineering degree or similar.

Proven track record of developing and deploying commercial software to customers.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Capability of working with customers on integration and challenges, to ensure completion of commissioning & software projects.

Knowledge of protocols such as Modbus, 61850, DNP, SOAP, etc.

Intermediate level TSQL (MS-SQL & SQLite) experience and basic PowerShell scripting.

Use of CAD packages for 2D drawings.

Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.

Integration of IED’s & SCADA / CBM systems and configuration of Windows 10 / Server / Linux OS from embedded to enterprise software.

Interfacing to sensors and transducers; RS485, 4-20mA.

Extensible Markup Language (XML).

Strong understanding of networks and security including IP, Firewalls, Routers, LAN redundancy, VLAN, encryption and cyber security.

Working Conditions:

· Environment: Fast-paced office and manufacturing facility.

Occasional working outside of UK business hours to support international customers may be required.

Occasional travel to other Qualitrol sites / customer locations may be required.
