Job Title: Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev

Location: Livermore, CA (Hybrid, need onsite 1-2 times a month)

Description:

NEED LOCAL CANDIDATES. TRAVEL WILL BE 5% TO 15% TO LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON, WINTERS AND OTHER LOCATIONS AS NEEDED.

Job Description:

Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content.

Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.

Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.

Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.

Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings.

Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.

Required Skills

3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training.

Experience developing training for utility industry.

Experience with technical writing

Experience developing hands on skills training in a technical environment.

Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.

Very strong Task Analysis knowledge and capability

Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Articulate Storyline.

Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.

Highly Desired

Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it.

Comfortable and capable working on a High Performing Team

Safety knowledge strongly desired

Must live and work within PG&E service area

Available to travel 5% to 15% of time to local (i.e. Livermore, San Ramon, Winters) and remote locations in California, as needed.

Bachelor's degree ideal but not required
