Why This is an Exciting Role:

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is introducing an innovative Senior/Lead Engineer role, blending elements of software engineering, systems engineering, and chief engineering responsibilities for a new and critical project within the program. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading the technical direction of a cutting-edge initiative that contributes to national security objectives.

As a Senior/Lead Engineer on this new project, you will drive the development and enhancement of advanced web application tools crucial for mission success. Your responsibilities will encompass:

Technical Leadership: Leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Software Development: Contributing hands-on to software development efforts, leveraging your expertise in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and tools.

Systems Engineering: Collaborating closely with systems administrators, database administrators, and developers to ensure system security, performance, and scalability.

Chief Engineering: Overseeing the overall technical vision, strategy, and execution of the project, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and mission objectives.

Collaboration: Engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and drive project milestones.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree(s) preferred with 17+ years of experience.

Required Qualifications:

TS/SCI with Poly (active)

Security Certifications: Experience with the security and accreditation process, preferably with the agency.

Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in software development, systems engineering principles, and industry best practices. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence) is highly desirable.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

Technical Breadth: Experience with multiple databases preferred (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). AWS experience and certifications are highly desired (Architect, SysOps, etc.). Working experience with containers is desirable.

Agile Experience: Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira/Confluence.

Security Certifications: Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) demonstrating expertise in cybersecurity practices.

Technical Breadth: Broad technical expertise across software engineering disciplines, with a strong background in architecting and designing complex systems.

Customer Engagement: Experience interfacing with customers, understanding their needs, and translating requirements into technical solutions.

Governance and Process Improvement: Familiarity with governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL), testing methodologies, change management, and stakeholder management practices.

Adaptability and Vision: Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, demonstrating strategic vision and the ability to drive innovation and change.

Telework/Remote Availability: little to no remote capabilities

Work Location: Annapolis Junction MD or Elkridge MD

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
