Job Title: Front Desk Coordinator I- Support Staff
Department: Front Desk
Reports To: East House Programs Manager
Classification: Part time
The Front Desk staff help to ensure that Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington’s Ronald McDonald Houses® (RMH) offer the most welcoming and hospitable guest services possible. The Front Desk Support Staff serve as the daily contact and support for all guest families during their stay with an eye toward maintaining our safe, clean, and compassionate environments. The Front Desk Support Staff models RMHC’s values and compassionate hospitality principles, reinforcing a culture of exemplary service for guest families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Front desk management- including answering phones, supporting volunteers, greeting families as they arrive in the house, and engaging with donors and community stakeholders.
Manage guest registration process: check in/check out and access to their rooms.
Maintain positive and supportive communication to all constituents including hospital partners, donors, and vendors.
Serve as a resource for families for navigating transportation, neighborhood services, and family activities in the community.
Work in conjunction with the Family Support team and Kitchen Coordinator to provide on-site support for programs, meals, enrichment activities which may include cleaning and laundry.
Ensure a warm and welcome greeting to all families.
Assure adherence to policies and processes that maintain the well-being of staff, volunteers and guests.
Elevate issues and problems to the East House Programs Manager and/or Front Desk Manager.
Maintain proficiency in guest registration and guest management software systems.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain security protocols for guests
Own/Assist with other duties as assignedRequirements:
At least two years of work experience in a customer service or similar position that involves interaction with the public. Passion to serve our community and support families in medical crisis.
Ability to pass a background check
High School graduate or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
Support Staff Schedule Requirements:
Available to work at least 2 on-call shifts per month (Morning or Swing).
On-Call position does not have a set schedule and will vary depending on business needs.
Must be flexible in order to work on short notice when called to cover for an illness/absence (within reason)
Work 1 Holiday shift per year.
May pick up shifts for additional hours
Must maintain current CPR/AED (paid for by RMHC)
Must attend paid training quarterly (4x/year)

Basic computer proficiency, including email, Word and Excel, and database management
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure, and prioritize tasks
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluency in Spanish is preferred
Work Environment:
Most work is conducted in an office environment. Attendance at events may be indoors or outdoors, possibly in hot or wet weather. In conjunction with certain events, employee may be required to lift packages (up to approximately 30 pounds) and stand for long periods of time.
