Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for an entry-level mechanical engineer to join our growing team! Our projects include designing, building, and deploying clean-sheet automation and manufacturing solutions for cutting-edge technologies of the future such as electric aircraft, commercial spacecraft, batteries, and clean energy. The projects we take on are challenging but also rewarding and often involve solving problems in ways that have never been done before.

Mechanical engineers at Perellion perform a wide range of tasks across the entire life cycle of a project, including design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing. In this role, you would be directly responsible for each step of this process from cradle to grave, while working as part of a team that includes electrical and controls engineers as well as senior mechanical engineers. Your responsibilities would include extensive hands-on work in addition to more traditional desk-based engineering work.

We support our early-career engineers with training and mentoring.

Requirements:

BSME or MSME

Enjoyable person to be around. Our team is made up of great people with positive attitudes, we like to work with each other, and maintaining this culture is a very high priority.

Strong communication skills. This is as important as engineering capabilities.

Self-directed and able to work independently in an environment that emphasizes individual ownership and responsibility, and where requirements may not always be well-defined

Strong parametric CAD skills (Solidworks, NX, CATIA, etc.)

Able to perform strenuous tasks such as lifting and moving up to 40 lbs repeatedly each day

Willingness to get your hands dirty using tools and operating heavy equipment

Able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance (Perellion will assist with gaining this clearance once employed)

Bonus points:

Hands-on mechanical experience such as auto repair, construction, bicycle repair, welding, and machining

Senior capstone or professional experience designing and building automated systems: robotics, PLC programming, microcontrollers, etc.
