Transportation Senior Engineer - Water Resource

Rinker Design Associates, LLC, has excellent advancement opportunities for Water Resource/Hydraulic civil engineering professionals. This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects. Typical projects range from large design/build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of the water resource/hydraulic design.

Leads project team meetings and presents specific aspects of water resource/hydraulic design.

Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.

Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers.

Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.

Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.

Position Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.

At least 5 years of experience in water resource/hydraulic engineering design.

Understanding VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.

Strong technical design background in water resource/hydraulic design and familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards.

Must demonstrate teamwork and possess written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
