Theatrical Lighting Systems Project Estimator

Job Description

Working closely with the sales department, Project Estimators are responsible from the beginning of a project, leading the process of project estimation, system design and budgeting of public bid, design build, and Turn-Key projects.

Reports to: Director of Project Delivery

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the accurate take-off and estimation of public bid, design-build, and fixture package projects.

Prepare estimating work up sheets for both private and public bid projects.

Produce Bill of Materials, product data sheet sets, and proposal documents for the outside sales team.

Track bid dates and project bid schedule.

Assist with the registration of projects with vendors.

Assist sales team with identifying and qualifying a job before starting a workup.

Review and interpret detailed job specifications and scope of responsibility for public bid estimates.

Research, Identify, and source products that are required for the estimate but not in our current price lists.

Qualifications and Education:

Degree in technical theatre, project management, construction management, or related field or commensurate experience in a related industry

Experience with theatrical power systems, controls, and fixtures is required.

Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Must have excellent customer service skills (both written and verbal).

Must have good organizational skills, being prompt and accurate in providing estimates for all project opportunities.

Must be able to pass 5-panel drug screen.
