Ethos Wellness - Westlake (Presence Wellness) is looking for a Group practice nurse practitioner psychiatry position in Austin, TX for an immediate part or full-time position. Full time hours can be guaranteed right away.

Our offices are spacious and located in the Westlake district of Austin. We’re looking for a warm, smart, friendly, highly competent PMHNP nurse practitioner to work with adults who are mostly high functioning on a variety of issues.

You would be joining a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and mentored on a variety of integrative methods that may expand your professional repertoire. We employ the best of psychopharmacology along with healthy lifestyle changes, evidence-based supplements, the latest science of psychotherapy, and mind-body approaches to work collaboratively toward our patients’ wellness.

Job Purpose: The Wellness Clinic Psychiatry Team is responsible for providing a full range of psychiatric services to patients according to best practices and the latest science in the field. While we approach care from an evidence-based perspective, we are open to supportive and complementary approaches as they may be helpful. Your treatment focus would be on diagnoses, medication management, lifestyle coaching and education, and evidence-based use of natural products and alternative therapies as you see fit. Duties also include collaboration with the multidisciplinary team at the wellness center.

Essential Duties:

Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (typically 75 minutes), including psychiatric present symptoms and history, concerns around patient safety and violence, substance use, traumas, health behaviors, medical, social and family/genetic history.

Evaluate for safety, including self-harm, violence and reportable arenas of abuse or neglect within family units. Managing and responding to psychiatric emergencies using clinical tools and partnering with appropriate community agencies.

Develop biopsychosocial assessments of patients involving differential diagnoses and inclusion of social determinants of health. This may include using laboratory testing, collateral data, and other medical reports.

Develop treatment plans for psychiatric disorders and or stress-induced illnesses based on practice guidelines, evidence-based standards and clinic knowledge. Referring out conditions which are better suited to other branches of medicine or clinical care.

Involve and educate patients and/or their families on diagnoses and treatments.

Prescribe and monitor psychotropic and related medications based on diagnosis, lab tests, patient’s status of severity, to treat symptoms of disorders and improve functioning and quality of life, in manner attending to safe standards and with patient informed consent.

Recommend appropriate use and monitoring of lifestyle modifications such as exercise, diet and mind-body approaches as commensurate with the patient’s condition, the medical evidence and the patient’s readiness to take on behavioral interventions.

Recommend appropriate use (with informed consent) and monitoring of nutraceutical and herbal supplements as commensurate with the patient’s condition, the medical evidence and the patient’s readiness to take on such interventions.

Make appropriate referrals out of the agency to community partners for interventions not delivered by the wellness clinic such as TMS and ECT or other medical care as needed.

Competencies:

Knowledge - Familiarity and facility with using psychiatric tools which are standards of care. Willingness to expand on or develop knowledge of other healthy, evidence-based interventions in management of mental health conditions, stress reduction, and patient wellness.

Communication - the individual demonstrates effective clinical interviewing skills, ability to synthesize information, ability to use tools to decrease emotional distress, support and motivate positive behavioral change, and the ability to communicate with colleagues in a positive manner. Documentation has high standards of good clinical communication.

Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures and using space and equipment properly and professionally.

Quality management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and improvement in their care over time.

Ethical - Upholds legal and ethical standards related to provision of the mental health services and clinical role.

Teamwork - Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, provides consultation to other members to enhance quality of care and receives feedback appropriately.

Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully and seeks additional outside input when necessary.

Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time effectively and keeps up with expected documentation, appointment times, communication, and licensing standards.

Delegation - Clear about work assignment roles and monitors work which is appropriately delegated out to support team members.

Social Skills - Has professional interactions with patients, families and colleagues. Models good boundaries and professionalism with a positive attitude.

Experience and Education:

Required:

Board Certified/Board Eligible

Licensed to practice medicine by the Texas Medical Board

Preferred:

3yrs working in psychiatry

Supplemental Training in integrative psychiatry/ integrative medicine or lifestyle medicine.

Compensation:

Compensation is a split salary model similar to private practice, with a percent of collections constituting your compensation and the remaining percent collected by the practice to cover practice expenses, office space, administrative support, and healthcare benefits. You receive:
