Job Description Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database QA/Tester to join Global BI team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Aristocrat.

Incumbent will be responsible for identifying and defining tests, monitoring test coverage, creation and execution of test cases, coordination of testing activities according to the test plan and test phases, assessing the quality of target test items and verifying quality of testing performed by developers. The role also has the responsibility for specifying and preparing test data sets, defining test environment requirements, and assisting Senior Team members with test planning.

Job Requirements

Expertise in Software Development Life Cycle process SDLC and Quality Assurance Life Cycle including Business Analysis, and Test Planning/Strategy and Testing.

Extensive experience in writing SQL scripts to validate the database systems and for backend database testing.

Experience with QA Methodology and QA Validations.

Proficient in Gathering Data, Test Cases, Execution, Bug Tracking and Reporting Systems.

Involved in testing by writing complex SQL queries.

Experience with backend database and data migration testing.

Experience in Quality Assurance Testing Phases including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Stress Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing UAT, End to End Testing, Smoking Testing and Regression Testing.

Good understanding in Data Warehousing and ETL testing concepts. And experience in Google BigQuery, Snowflake & Power BI

Tracked and maintained application test defects, issues log maintenance, impact assessments, and assisted operations team.

Assisted in the implementation of QA processes to ensure correctness of data flowing through each stage

Independent system testing of in-house bespoke applications and enhancements.

Worked in both Agile Environment and Waterfall methodology.

Experience on working with multiple data sources like RDMS, Flat file etc

Strong Project Orientation with excellent Team Involvement, client coordination and good written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.

Experience

6-10 years of strong experience in Database QATesting

Experience with using testing tools and Azure DevOps/Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) (desirable)

Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, customers, business stakeholders, and partners.

Proven record of being able to work in a team environment.

Proven experience in a variety of testing efforts and platforms

Results driven approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Good analytical skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Solid understanding of testing methods, standards, and common software failures/faults

Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and supporting multiple teams within a business.

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Fully conversant with the use of testing management and defect management tools.

Able to independently create and implement test plans, test cases and document test process.

Able to independently create process testing scenarios basing on process maps and technical solution design documents.

Able to execute test cases independently and reporting the test results outcome.

Able to report testing progress and quality outcomes.

Able to maintain the up-to-date issues log, track defects clearly and manage to resolution and closure.

Able to self-learn appropriate testing tool.
