**Description**

We are looking for a talented **HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT OFFICER** to join our team specializing in **HEALTH AND SAFETY** for our **DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS SEGMEN** T in **ORAPA, BOTSWANA** .

**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways** :

- Manage site HSE compliance of policies, procedures, brief site team, and update SHE systems. Work with team members to ensure all work procedures are followed according to standards.

- Assist on site administration occupational health issues and site requirements compliance. (Medicals, Manhours, PPE, Wellness, Hygiene, Environmental issues etc.)

- Work in hand with other HSE team to run campaigns and support other sites, cohesively work with site team and guide management on staff on all health and safety issues.

- Ensure effective reporting of near hits and incidents, investigations and follows up on closure of deviations and actions.

- Ensures availability and effectiveness of emergency preparedness plans to address incidents that have potential to occur causing injuries to people or damage to property.

- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the site HSEMS, control of significant aspects and risks and achievement of HSE objectives/targets.

**Qualifications**

**To be successful in this role you will need the following** :

- A minimum of Diploma in Health and Safety / Occupational Health & Safety / Safety Management / Environmental Health & Safety.

- Intermediate knowledge on Microsoft Office Package Skills, Good Communication and Presentation Skills.

- Class B Driver’s License, Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Earth Moving/Construction/ Heavy Mining Equipment Industry.

- Mining Basic First Aid, ISO14001 and ISO45001 Awareness will be an added advantage.
