Job Description

The BCBA / LBA is a member of Steppingstones Birth to Three program focusing on meeting the behavioral, developmental, and communication needs of children birth to 3 years of age, who may be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The BCBA may also participate in the programs for infants and toddlers exhibiting significant infant mental health and behavioral mental health concerns.

The BCBA conducts assessments, and develops behavioral plans, treatment plans, programs, data collection, and communication systems to function within a coaching framework for successful implementation of evidence based practices (EBP).

All services provided occur in the natural environment within the context of naturally occurring daily routines and activities (i.e. the child’s home, child care facility, or community locations.) The BCBA will provide support and training as needed for team members including the child’s family. The BCBA will attend staff meetings, meet regularly with the program director, and attend, and participate in monthly team meetings for each child as necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Conducts evaluations and assessments

2. Develops Programs

3. Oversees programs using data collection and graphing

4. Provides direct and/or consultative services to children and families

5. Employs coaching for successful implementation of evidence based practices (EBP)

6. Provides training for team members, staff, parents and caregivers as needed

Additional Job Functions:

1. Develops individual programs for children based on ABA principles

2. Employs different strategies such as: Pivotal Response Training, Discrete Trial Training,

Token Economy, and Activity Schedules etc. as appropriate

3. Conducts assessments such as VB MAPP, ABBLS-R, AFLS etc.

4. Develops data collection systems to monitor children’s progress

5. Develops treatment plans for the children

6. Writes reports regarding children’s status and progress

7. Provides in-service training for transdisciplinary team colleagues as needed

Job Requirements:

1. MA or Doctorate in behavior analysis or in psychology, special education or another human service discipline with an emphasis in behavior analysis

2. BCBA Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

3. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

4. Regular attendance and punctuality with limited unscheduled absences is required.

Physical Requirements:

1. Work is active and varies from light to moderate. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

2. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

3. Ability to complete significant amounts of computer screen work and data entry without restriction.
