Job Description
SMT Technician will support engineering and manufacturing activities for all surface mount operations. Use problem solving tools to continually improve processes while eliminate defects and errors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned).
Independently program, setup and run a complete SMT line
Generate SMT programs for use by all SMT lines using IS software optimizing setup, balancing machines, and reducing takt times
Work closely with Engineering and Lean Manufacturing to suggest and implement process improvements and efficiencies
Maintain and/or perform minor repairs of manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to: pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens
Maintain and request replacements of stencils and tooling to Engineering, based on wear, tear, and usage
Provide pre and post manufacturing reviews and finalize process issues as required
Support the lines with setup to minimize changeover time
Verify SPI programs
Ensure pastes and materials are ordered thru Engineering/Purchasing as minimum levels are reached
Run and operate the SMT equipment when needed
Monitor, review, edit and update SMT Program Scheduler as needed
INTERNAL COMMUNICATION
Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, operation manuals, safety rules, etc.
Must have interpersonal and language skills necessary to deal with people at all levels within the organization
