Position Summary

The successful candidate will ensure that all customer demands are acknowledged, scheduled and met by manufacturing production in a timely, efficient manner. This position is based in our Bellefontaine manufacturing plant, reports to the Supply Chain Manager and coordinates across business functions for planning and scheduling with consideration to anticipated constraints or interruptions.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Receives requirements from customers and ensures thorough, accurate processing to prepare and distribute production schedules for daily operation.

Analyze, plan, and manage production control activities to improve runtime.

Review production plans to identify risks and escalate and resolve as necessary.

Monitor the execution of job orders and recommend the adjustment of the production schedule for timely delivery.

Plan and monitor material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations.

Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements for each job order.

Communicate issues pertaining to materials and/or manufacturing that may delay processes.

Work with materials, manufacturing and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems.

Maintains weekly and monthly forecasts with sales and finance teams including required production planning to develop the manufacturing plan and master schedule.

Facilitate daily production meetings and update daily production communications and reports to coordinate adjustments with functional and operational leadership.

Monitor production performance to identify problems, determine root cause and develop/implement effective solutions to continuously improve key performance indicators.

Key facilitator in planning and execution of Physical Inventory Activities

Align with Buyer on scheduling of raw materials to the production schedule

Work with Product Engineering on New Product Development

Communicate past due orders to Customer Service

Experience and Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.

3 or more years’ industrial manufacturing experience with responsibility for planning and scheduling

APICS certification and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

ERP/MRP experience (D365 Preferred)

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Data analysis and report building

Sourcing and Shipping knowledge
