An established orthopedics practice located in the Tumwater, WA area is looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team. The practice features a team of highly skilled orthopedic surgeons dedicated to delivering outstanding outcomes to our patients. As a PA in the practice, you will play a vital role in assisting our team of orthopedic surgeons in providing comprehensive care to our patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in both the operating room and clinic settings. Candidates with direct orthopedic experience will be given priority, however the group is willing to train as well.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room, including pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative care.

Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments of patients, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests as needed.

Provide post-operative care and follow-up to patients, including wound care, medication management, and monitoring of recovery progress.

Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with orthopedic conditions, including fractures, joint injuries, and degenerative diseases.

Conduct clinic visits and assist with outpatient procedures, such as injections, casting, and splinting.

Educate patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documenting patient encounters, procedures performed, and treatment plans.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Washington or ability to obtain

Previous experience working in orthopedics or a surgical specialty preferred.

Strong surgical skills and the ability to assist in a variety of orthopedic procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
