We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Director of Clinical Engineering to oversee all aspects of our Clinical Engineering Services within UR Medicine. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team responsible for managing the selection, distribution, maintenance, and compliance of clinical equipment across our system. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective use of medical technology throughout UR Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare technical specifications for all medical equipment purchases, negotiate with vendors, and ensure compliance with technical requirements and budget constraints.

Direct the activities of the Clinical Engineering department, including personnel management, performance evaluation, and hiring.

Provide strategic recommendations for construction projects involving medical equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.

Develop, monitor, and control operating and capital budgets exceeding $50 million.

Implement and oversee UR Medicine's healthcare technology Medical Equipment Management Plan, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Establish and maintain a computerized information management system to facilitate data analysis and reporting on healthcare technology.

Provide oversight of installation and testing of all medical equipment purchased, ensuring adherence to specifications and proper operation.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a bachelor’s degree in clinical or electrical engineering, with a background in healthcare technology, and ideally, a Master's Degree in Technology or Health Management. They need a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role, and certification in Health Care Technology Management or as a Biomedical Equipment Technician/Clinical Engineer. They must be capable of managing over 60 technical staff across multiple locations, with budgets up to $20 million annually. Strong problem-solving abilities, independent decision-making skills, and experience supervising revenue-generating processes exceeding $5 million are essential.
