SAFARI Montage is the leading K-12 Learning Object Repository (LOR). The LOR supports teacher customization of lessons and district development or enhancement of courses utilizing all of the preferred resources available. The platform is 1EdTech and Project Unicorn certified and is interoperable with LMSs, Google Classroom (and other applications), Microsoft Teams (and other applications), SISs, Course Publisher Thin Common Cartridges (including 1.3), state academic standards, and more.

The position is primarily remote however candidates should be local to the Philadelphia area as some occasional onsite work will be required.

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Network Engineer will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), virtual network and cloud-based network operations;

Ensure highly efficient and reliable operation of all network communications to meet company demands;

Assist in conducting analyses of new technologies and recommendations for system configurations and network design;

Implementation of wired and wireless network software/hardware installation and monitoring;

Manage a Cloud-based Unified Communications system integrated Microsoft Teams;

Minimize hardware/software downtime on related equipment within network services, telecommunications and throughout various departments to maximize performance, efficiency and productivity;

Manage and monitor Internet connectivity and MPLS inter-site communications;

Manage and maintain network-centric server/software applications, including Syslog server and Security scanning applications;

Provide assistance to and act as backup for Security and Server Administration positions;

Provide General IT support;

Participate in on-call pager responsibilities as needed;

On occasion, travel to the Company’s fulfillment center in Conshohocken and Colocation site located in Philadelphia, PA; and,

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

5 years of experience in Network administration, design and implementation in a mixed Windows, Linux LAN/WAN environment;

Experience with Cisco or comparable routers, security appliances, L2/L3 switches, load balancers and high-availability network design;

Experience with routing protocols, VLANs, link aggregation, SSL-VPN and IPsec;

Experience with wireless/mobile devices, wireless protocols;

Windows 10/11 & Windows Server 20XX troubleshooting, including network configuration;

Security appliance (Firewall) configuration and management;

Network security, disaster recovery, documentation and performance monitoring;

Cisco Certification preferred;

Server administration experience a plus;

VMware networking experience a plus; and,

Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or other related field.
