Summary:
Krech Ojard & Associates, Inc. (KOA) is a growing engineering firm committed to delivering exceptional solutions to our clients. With a focus on fostering client relationships and providing top-tier structural services, we take pride in our commitment to excellence. As a Structural Engineer focusing on bridge structures, your role will focus on fostering client relationships and delivering high-quality structural services to our bridge industry clients. This position requires five or more years of post-graduate experience and demands the ability to apply independent engineering judgement and be self-directed in the completion of projects.
Functions:
Analysis and design of structural systems and components
Analysis and design of bridges with varying sizes and scope (e.g. new design, load ratings, repairs, multiple/varying construction materials, rail industry, highway, etc.)
Develop and review plans, details, calculations, and specifications appropriate to construct or fabricate systems to transmit structural loads
Direct Engineers-in-Training and technicians in the preparations of proper documentation
Site observations and inspection of bridge construction projects
Site inspections and structural condition assessments of existing bridge structures
Working with clients to develop and/or maintain bridge management programs
Preparation of reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use
Maintain budget and deadlines to client satisfaction
Work within multi-disciplinary teams in varying roles
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineering license
Five or more years of post-graduate experience in bridge design and inspection for highway or railway infrastructure
Knowledge of advanced structural engineering principles and practices applied to project design and construction
Professionally dedicated to delivering high-quality, well-organized documents to clients
Detailed understanding of wood, steel, and concrete bridge systems
Proficient in relevant structural engineering software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Robot Structural Analysis, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AASHTOWARE, etc.)
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations including AASHTO and/or AREMA
Familiarity with historic bridge structures, design approaches, and construction techniques
Familiarity with DOT and/or Class I Railway standards, methods, and bridge program formats.
Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients
Ability to travel throughout the U.S.A. (Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%)
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Compensation:
Compensation for this position will include a base salary range of $75,000 – $125,000 /year. Conditional offers will be based on the candidate’s education, experience, technical skill, and other considerations.
