Sr. Citrix Engineer

Summary:

The Senior Citrix Engineer will provide technical leadership in areas of information technology across the infrastructure.

The Senior Citrix Engineer will participate in an advanced engineering and support role within the area of Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp and Citrix Provisioning Server.

This individual will provide escalation support and will coordinate implementation of recommended solutions with operational teams and evaluate the impact of changes across global sites.

This individual will work with project teams to develop plans for mitigating any possible adverse impacts and will be responsible for coordinating testing and approving solutions.

Senior Citrix Engineer

Responsibilities:

Work with Application Business owners to utilize the Application Lifecycle Framework Maximize number of applications per XenApp virtual disk Collaborate with Anti-virus team to maintain best practice exclusions for XenApp, XenDesktop Appsense, Provisioning Servers, and Windows 7 virtual operating systems.

Collaborate with Application Business owners to onboard new applications to the virtual desktop environment Act as Tier-3 escalation for Citrix Administrators and Engineers

Coordinate with Network Engineering Team to create, manage, and monitor Virtual Servers Implement new application installs and application patches

Coordinate with Desktop Engineering Packaging team to obtain new MSI applications ready for deployment

Provide Tier-3 support for existing, large, globally dispersed Citrix Farms

Create and manage XenApp Worker Groups and corresponding AD Groups or OUs to create application Silos where deemed necessary

Create, maintain, and maximize use of Citrix Policies for XenApp and XenDesktop end-users

Create, maintain, and streamline Group Policy Objects and settings for each layer under the dedicated Citrix OU Develop and implement testing procedures for all changes in the Virtualized environment

Review final technical designs for local, regional, and global implementations of any technology within the Virtualized environment and determine the impact of such changes

Experience:

Ten or more years of experience in progressive roles from Administrator to Engineer

Experience designing and building global or national level Citrix environments from scratch

Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation relative to virtualization

Proven success in architectures having multiple Active Directory Domains, XenApp Farms, XenDesktop Farms, PVS Farms, multiple zones, Citrix Policies.

Verifiable experience migrating applications and supporting platform upgrades

Create and manage XenApp Worker Groups and corresponding AD Groups or OUs to create application Silos Create, maintain, and streamline Group Policy Objects and settings.
