Description:

Experienced Project Manager

Since the founding of Walden Environmental Engineering over 29 years ago, we have experienced steady and sustainable growth. Now, we need experienced, driven project managers with strong skills as engineers or geologists to help propel us into the next decade. These individuals will work out of our headquarters office in beautiful Oyster Bay, LI, or our Hudson Valley (East Fishkill) office.

Walden’s staff are proud to say that they work on projects that help clients improve air quality, water quality, and energy efficiency in communities. We work on diverse civil and environmental engineering projects for public and private clients throughout Long Island, New York City, and the lower Hudson Valley.

Project Managers at Walden must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an in-depth understanding of consulting in an environmental/civil engineering firm, demonstrate masterful ability to manage client relations, perform business development, and mold future engineers by mentoring and managing younger staff.

In turn, Walden offers staff competitive salaries, support for accreditations, continuous learning opportunities, exceptional work/life balance, team building activities, and full benefits that include medical/dental insurance, flex hours, hybrid work arrangements, profit sharing, and a casual dress environment.

What will I do at Walden?

Act as the liaison between Walden, our clients, and other stakeholders.

Perform business development work like writing proposals, lead cultivation, and pitching Walden services to existing or potential clients.

Work in close collaboration with other PMs and staff.

Assign staff work based on their strengths and individual goals.

Actively work on client projects.

What skills do I need?

BS or MS in environmental or civil engineering or geology.

Our experienced PMs are required to have at least 8 years of post-bachelor’s experience.

Strong preference for candidates who are licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.), Professional Geologists (P.G.), or in the process of obtaining the same.

Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Workspace).

Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce thorough reports with masterful attention to detail.

Understanding of relevant Federal, State, and local regulations.

Ability to work independently and collectively with other staff.

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10-hour Construction Safety training.

Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and travel to job sites.
