Physician Assistant

Role Description

Aroh-Giving Hope is looking for a full-time physician Assistant to join the Malabar Cancer Centre (Post Graduate Institute of Oncology Sciences and Research). The Physician Assistant will provide assistance to the treating physician and work under the directives of the physician of pediatric oncology.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis in OPD

2. Order investigations to ascertain the nature and extent of illness and injuries (under the physician's supervision)

3. Counsel families/ patient attendees during diagnosis and each phase of treatment (under the supervision of the treating physician)

4. Assist and do procedures under the supervision of the physician

5. Attend the physician's rounds and carry out orders

6. Writing notes in case sheet for every patient- depends on the centre

7. Administer immunizations/ drugs

8. Writing referrals and communicating with other specialists if needed

9. Maintain patient records and provide documentation

10. Ensure proper maintenance of daily case notes in case sheets and drugs charts- antibiotics, supportive drugs, and chemotherapeutic drugs as per the hospital norms

Qualifications/Skills

· B. Sc. Physician Assistant

· Experience - 0-2 years (preferred)

· Languages - Malayalam (mandatory), English (Mandatory)

· Knowledge of childhood cancer and its treatment

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

· Basic computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 20,000.00 - 25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate: Thalassery, Kerala (Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred))
