Overview:

As an Ophthalmologist for OPD, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized medical care to patients with eye-related conditions. Your expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing various ocular diseases and disorders will be essential in improving the vision and overall quality of life for your patients. Your presence in the Outpatient Department (OPD) will ensure timely access to expert eye care services, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and assessments.

Diagnosing and treating ocular diseases and conditions.

Performing surgical procedures such as cataract surgery and laser eye surgery.

Prescribing medications and eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Providing pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries.

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals for integrated patient care.

Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment and technology for accurate assessments.

Educating patients about eye health and disease prevention.

Participating in departmental meetings and continuing medical education.

Maintaining accurate and updated patient records and charts.

Adhering to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

Participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.

Supervising and mentoring medical students and residents.

Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Board certification in Ophthalmology.

Valid state medical license and DEA registration.

A minimum of 2-5 years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology.

Proven expertise in performing eye surgeries and laser procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and CME activities.

Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and patient-centered care approach.

Availability to participate in on-call and weekend duties as needed.
