Job Title: Logistics Worker

Classification: Non-Exempt; Full-time

Department: Logistics

Location: Reno, NV

Reports to: Logistics Supervisor

Position Overview

The logistics worker is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position includes building orders, loading trucks, Logistics ingredients, packaging and finished product. Logistics workers are also responsible for helping maintain inventory and supplying Production with any product/materials they need.

Essential Functions

Warehouse duties: Follows the procedures for the logistics tasks in a safe and timely manner as directed by supervision.

Use mechanical and power vehicles, forklifts and/or pallet jacks to load and unload goods as trained in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain equipment (cleaning, inspecting, fueling etc.) to ensure safe operation.

Works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Marketing and assists other departments as required.

Ensure Production is serviced with correct packaging as requested and in sufficient quantity to cover their needs.

Coordinate with the Logistics Supervisor or Lead on the flow of organic ingredients/supplies through warehouse using First In/First Out (FIFO) program.

Prepare orders for shipments in accordance with the sales order and customer requirements. Complete Bill of Lading forms

Participate in special projects as required.

Loading dock duties: Follows the procedures for receiving and shipping in the loading dock area in a safe and timely manner.

Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages/overages and rejects damaged goods. Prepares appropriate shipping/receiving reports to document proof of delivery

Load/unload goods from trucks and complete Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) forms

Inventory duties: Follows the processes for receiving, issuing and counting inventory in an accurate and timely manner

Participate in period end inventory counts as required performing accurate inventory counts and recording counts clearly as directed.

Ensure all finished goods received into warehouse are safely and correctly wrapped. Operate the shrink-wrap machine to wrap pallets and label as required. Complete pallet inspections after pallets are assembled. Ensure finished goods are stored in designated areas and count sheets are completed accurately.

Safety & Housekeeping: Ensures that Logistics activities are conducted in a safe manner and housekeeping is kept to the standard required.

Maintain cleanliness of the work areas throughout the shift.

Comply with MGC’s GMP/SOP programs and HACCP program

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature.

Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials

Clear vision at 20 inches or less; 20 feet or more

Ability to identify and distinguish colors

Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19 per hour
