Ideally, we are looking for a candidate located in the Michigan, Indiana, Illinois area as the ability to be/work onsite in Kalamazoo (MI) on a routine basis is preferred, but we will definitely entertain candidates who are located throughout the United States whereby the position would predominately be performed remotely, but would require some visits to the office headquarters located in Kalamazoo, MI throughout the year.
Job description
The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for developing leads, communicating with customers, understanding customer needs, and ensuring a smooth sales process. This position is also responsible for closing sales and meeting established sales targets.
A successful Sales Support Specialist is able to build instant rapport and achieve customer satisfaction while also being competitive and a good listener.
Here’s what you can expect in the way of specific job responsibilities as well as time allocation estimates:
Sales/Sales Support (100%)
Communicating with customers, making outbound calls to potential customers, and researching and qualifying leads. This includes and is not limited to:
Working closely with Territory Managers to facilitate achieving sales goals
Analyzing repeat ordering frequency to determine if an event or program driven opportunity and add data into CRM
Monitoring and following up on Territory Manager Samples
Analyze Reports – Weekly, Bi-Monthly, Annually as needed
Assist TM with targeted accounts / states.
Facilitating interdepartmental communication
Closing sales and creating quotes to achieve sales targets
Upselling products and services
Understanding customers' needs and identifying sales opportunities
Answering potential customers' questions and sharing additional information
Creating and maintaining a database of current and potential customers
Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services
Keeping up with product and service information and updates
Staying informed about competing products and services
To be successful in this role, you need to have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities:
A high school diploma or GED is required
Demonstrated experience in an inbound/outbound call center or a related sales position
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent organizational skills, ability to shift from task to task, and time management skills.
Strong listening and sales skills
Excellent phone and cold calling skills
Capable of working independently, as well as within a team environment; ability to be a team player and is passionate about helping everyone on the team to be at their best
Respect for confidentiality practices
