Assistant Golf Professional The City of Groveport, Ohio, is central Ohio's small town.

Groveport is a growing City in southeastern Franklin County.

The community has a state of the art recreation and aquatic center, a world class golf course, an excellent arts and education program, several parks and a quaint Main Street historic area.

We are looking for an Assistant Golf Professional to join our team and work closely with the staff at the Golf Course.

SUMMARY: Assist the Director of Golf with the operation of the Golf Department This position is open until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; one (1) to three (3) years of relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the Municipality's vehicle insurance policy.

PGA affiliation is preferred but not required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Golf carts, range picker, power washer, golf equipment (e.g., GPS, golf club repair equipment, etc.) cellular phone, personal computer, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, handicap software, etc.) printer, copy machine, fax machine, and other standard business office equipment.

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); works in or around crowds; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons has exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions; works second or third shift; works rotating shifts; occasionally lifts objects 40 lbs or less; occasionally carries objects 40 lbs or less; occasionally pushes objects 40 lbs or less; occasionally pulls objects 40 lbs or less.

Note: In accordance with the U.S.

Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: JOB DUTIES in order of importance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101: 60% (1) Operates pro shop (e.g., opens/closes, answers phones, takes tee times, checks in golfers, sells merchandise, etc.); schedules leagues/outings/tournaments; runs junior clinics; gives lessons; directs staff on daily assignments; performs golf club repair; directs/assigns work of part-time and seasonal employees.

20% (2) Provides outstanding customer services; responds to inquiries, customer complaints, and other issues; promotes the services of the department; acts as spokesperson for the department; and monitors playing conditions and pace of play.

10% (3) Checks inventory levels; cleans and maintains restrooms, ensures adequate supplies on-site; and reconciles daily cash balance.

10% (4) Monitors and evaluates maintenance and upkeep of buildings, facilities, and equipment.

(5) Maintains contact with vendors, the general public, and various government agencies/officials in order to obtain or disseminate information related to the essential position functions.

(6) Maintains required licensures and certification.

(7) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

(8) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (9) Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skill in: computer operation; use of modern office equipment; motor vehicle operation; use or operation of golf course equipment/carts.

POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: NONE SALARY: $25.70 TO $33.63
