THE ROLE

As a Project Manager at Compass Development, you will manage real estate development and construction projects for key clients. For this position, some experience working with public entities will be valuable to serve a new client. You will lead a team of project managers and other staff to successfully deliver a project over a three year period. You will be responsible to provide day to day project management and oversight of a complex, large scale, multi-phase project. You will act as a liaison between contractors, the design team, and the client, holding team members accountable for meeting schedule, budget, and quality commitments.

If you are the right candidate, you are a technically inclined and a creative problem solver willing to dive in and figure out creative solution to complex problems. You are a quick learner and can quickly grasp complex and technical concepts learning and implementing new technology within these facilities. You are a good communicator and can interact with both field personnel and client executives. You have a positive attitude and are more concerned with finding common ground and solutions than you are with placing blame when project challenges occur.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop the scope of work for a general contractor RFQ/RFP process.

Review project construction documents for constructability and to ensure a complete scope of work. Provide feedback to design team.

Develop and manage project schedule and budget

• Coordinate all site activities

• Regularly conduct/attend meetings with the project team

• Identify and proactively participate in solving construction related issues including potential project delays, unforeseen conditions, and project changes

• Work with the contractor and design team to address issues in a timely fashion to keep projects on schedule.

• Provide regular reporting on progress, schedule, and financial management of projects

• Review contractor schedules, change orders, RFI’s, submittals, and pay applications

• Coordinate punch lists and project close out

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and at least 10 years of experience in a related field. Additional experience in the field can be acceptable in lieu of a degree.

• Experience working in project management specifically for public entity clients.

• Familiar with contracts, pay applications, lien releases and other project documentation

• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team leader.

• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
