Freelance Gaming QA Tester - Native level Japanese gaming test

The position of Gaming QA Tester is a key one at TransPerfect Translations. Gaming QA Testers provide client support on challenging test problems in a dynamic and exciting environment. Gaming QA Testers are responsible for testing the next big hit game from small independent development teams all the way to AAA game titles from industry heavyweights. Gaming QA Testers are passionate about games, detail-oriented, highly proficient and can spot errors in terminology, grammar, punctuation and linguistic style in your mother tongue. Gaming QA Testers are willing to learn and take constructive feedback to deliver high quality and timely testing to help make our clients’ games great. They have a passion for excellence, are experienced gamers and want to contribute to making better games.

Job Description:

Execute test plans and test cases, suggest improvements

Identify and document any functional or linguistic issues and verify fixes

Use test tools and automation as required

Apply knowledge of user preferences in Target Market to influence the client’s product

Collaborate with partner teams in testing the product

Proactively look for gaps in test coverage

Perform basic configuration and setup tasks on PC, Game consoles or mobile phones

Offer constructive feedback on gameplay, fun factor, and game balance based on knowledge of target market

Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Required skills:

Native-level proficiency in Japanese as the hire will be dealing with Japanese language projects

Business English skills

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

The ability to work well in a team environment

Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

The drive, positive attitude and ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced, innovative and creative environment

A passion for gaming

Required experience:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, or directly relevant experience

1+ years of game testing experience

Desired skills and experience:

Experience with Security testing/ fuzzing tools

Experience with Performance/Stress testing tools and methodologies

Experience with Accessibility testing

Experience with Certification Testing and/or Lot Checks

Experience with testing tools like fiddler, netmon, etc.

Experience with bug tracking systems like ADO, JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.
