We're searching for a Director of Merchandise for a growing Hockey Club organization based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada- (On-Site)

The oldest continuously operating junior hockey franchise in the world and a proud member of the Western Hockey League.

Under the general supervision of the Vice President, Sponsorships & Sales, this position will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Regina Pats merchandise operations, including the Pats Store and e-commerce site.

The Director of Merchandise will develop, lead, and implement merchandising strategies to enhance merchandise operations, provide a wide range of product offerings and create a memorable customer journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Conjunction with the Vice President, Sponsorships & Sales, and Controller, develop and manage the yearly Pats Store budget (retail and e-commerce).

Develop a yearly business plan to maximize retail and e-commerce revenues. In conjunction with the Vice President, Sponsorships & Sales, and Controller, present the yearly business plan to Ownership and CEO

Set yearly sales goals for the Store Manager and Team Members.

Execute retail store product strategy, including product operations, inventory management, and controlling and maintaining known and unknown loss of product.

Manage business enablers including financial, profit and loss, budget, expenses, and cash to drive sales to meet organizational budgets.

Responsible for providing weekly financial reports, as well as monthly and quarterly reporting.

Analyze retail store and e-commerce sales and adjust product offerings accordingly based on revenue-generating products.

Develop and maintain a merchandise catalog that includes a listing of all products, the cost of each product, and retail price.

Provide strategic procurement, sourcing, and purchasing of all merchandise for the Club.

Implement vendor agreements and product rates and shipping prices.

Elevate existing vendor relationships, as well as identify and develop new vendor relationships (locally and internationally).

Partner with local retailers to cross-merchandise Regina Pats branded merchandise.

Monitor vendor performance based on service, pricing, on-time delivery, quality, and quantity of product.

Maintain awareness of merchandising trends relative to the competition and stay informed of internal and external customer needs.

Work cross-functionally to develop merchandise strategies with Marketing and Digital Media, Game Day and Fan Experience, Corporate Sponsorships, and Ticket Operations departments.

Accountable or every aspect of the retail store and e-commerce store performance.

Responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a strong Store Manager and all retail team members.

Other duties as required include but are not limited to, assisting at all home game operations and Pats events, along with periodically scheduled shifts in the retail store to work alongside the retail team.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.

Minimum of 2 years of retail or sales-specific management experience.

Minimum of 2 years of people management experience and previous experience in merchandising, including purchasing products, managing inventory, pricing strategy, and visual merchandising.

Strong planning and organizational skills, analytical and detail-oriented.

A strategic business thinker who is results-driven.

Ability to work cross-functionally and deliver multiple strategies across an organization.

This position will require an individual who is available to work a variety of irregular work hours including all game days, evenings, and weekends. Required to be On-site
