Description:

We are seeking a Safety Manager with prior manufacturing experience. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols, procedures, and compliance within the facility, which employs approximately 300 individuals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.

Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.

Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazardous materials handling, machine operation safety, and emergency response protocols.

Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to mitigate future incidents.

Manage the facility's safety budget, including expenses for training, equipment, and maintenance.

Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, implementing updates as necessary.

Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and regulatory agencies.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety training, incidents, and compliance efforts.

Lead safety committee meetings to discuss ongoing initiatives, address issues, and solicit feedback from employees.

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing environment required.

Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees at all levels.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage employees in safety initiatives.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
