Title: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Remote in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and/or Northern Kentucky

Industry: Industrial Manufacturing and Fabrication

Work Environment: Remote, with travel 50% of the time

Position Overview

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth within their assigned territory (IL, IN, MI, OH, and Northern KY) by acquiring new customers and expanding existing relationships. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to sales and proven success at meeting and exceeding sales and revenue goals.

Essential Functions:

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in their assigned region.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with a particular focus on industries such as material handling, steel, military/defense, concrete, construction, mining, oil and gas, data centers, pressure vessels, heavy fabrications, and infrastructure.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at industrial distribution channels, large OEM accounts, and end-user customers.

Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the company’s product’ value proposition

Collaborate closely with internal teams including engineering, project management, manufacturing, estimating, and accounting to support sales initiatives and deliver exceptional customer experience.

Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.

Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customers’ needs to develop effective sales strategies.

Prepare and deliver sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to senior management.

Prepare and deliver reports on customers’ needs, customers’ problems, the market landscape, and potential new opportunities

Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote the company’s products and services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or business discipline; Associate degree with the applicable experience may be considered

5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing in a combination of the following industries – material handling, steel, military/defense, concrete, construction, mining, oil and gas, data centers, pressure vessels, heavy fabrications, and infrastructure.

Has an established network and book of business in a combination of the following industries – material handling, steel, military/defense, concrete, construction, mining, oil and gas, data centers, pressure vessels, heavy fabrications, and infrastructure.

Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Experience selling branded products through industrial distribution channels or to large OEM accounts.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.

Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong customer focus.

Proven experience hitting and exceeding sales and revenue goals

Excellent interpersonal, research, problem-solving, negotiation, presentation, oral, and written communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and quotation spreadsheets

Proficient in using CRMs (i.e. Salesforce or Hubspot)

Has strong business acumen and can demonstrate solid judgment in complex situations.

Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.

Willing to travel within a 500-mile radius of Chicago, IL at least 50% of the time

Must visit the company’s headquarters every quarter or more frequently if required to understand project scope/customer visits.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
