Digital Content Writer

Location: Culloden, WV (On-Site - No Remote work available)

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Position Summary:

Research, write and publish digital content to website and email to drive SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and awareness with customers and prospects, including electrical distributors and end users (specifying engineers, contractors).

Responsibilities include managing website, and tracking online presence and awareness using SEO best practices and tools. The role involves a great deal of writing and collaboration with a variety of internal departments at every level of the organization. The Digital Content Specialist will ensure accuracy within all existing materials while writing new content to drive awareness of key products and services that address customer pain points. A sharp eye for technical detail and a passion for communication will make for the ideal candidate.

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

Research target markets, keywords and industry trends to support SEO strategy

Conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to maximize online presence and awareness with target groups

Work with team to develop SEO strategy, track results and continually monitor for improvement

Collaborate with engineering and sales to write technical content for digital channels

Collaborate with graphics team to develop visuals that support written content

Maintain website and content across various specification portals to ensure accuracy with ongoing updates

Generate new and creative ways to communicate with key stakeholders

Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms

Edit and proofread written pieces before publication

Additional duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent technical writing and communication skills

Strong understanding website management and SEO strategies

Ability to research and understand target audiences

Capacity to understand technical terms and jargon for use with specific audiences

Strong self-management abilities and critical thinking skills

Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail and prioritization of tasks

Ability to fact-check and grammar-check technical content pieces

Cooperatively work and interact with internal customers and coordinate efforts with team

Requirements

High School diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)

BS in Communication, Business, English, Journalism or relevant field, strongly preferred

3+ years of communications, journalism or public relations experience required

Excellent writing and editing skills in English (French and/or Spanish a plus)

Strong experience with standard SEO tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, etc.)

Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (Titan, WordPress, Joomla)

Familiarity with digital content platforms (HTML, Adobe XD, Dreamweaver)

Portfolio of technical articles written and publisher
