Position Summary:

The Inventory Analyst will be required to conduct analysis for all areas within the Revenue Management & Pricing Organization. Critical analysis required of historic tour series sales, current tour series trending, sales analysis by channel of distribution, date analysis, forecasting plans and the competitive environment. Key areas of focus are on the implementation, maintenance, and analysis of the inventory date strategy for each tour series to meet forecasted demand and hit profitable load factors.

Primary Functions:

Makes recommendations and decisions on the composition of the analysis.

Reviews data and makes decisions on which data sources to use to build the analysis

Applies findings from analysis to make date strategy decisions for the organization

Analyzes pricing models, forecasting plans, yield management reports, sales data, previous materialization, and the competitive environment to aid in the administration of date strategy plan

Executes analysis needed for date strategy including on historical tour sales, upgrade sales, pre and post night and extension sales and works in partnership with Senior Inventory Specialist, Director of Inventory, Product Buyer and Air Pricing Manager to select dates that will lead to best costing for contracting while meeting forecasted demand needs

Audits tour series on a continuous basis to determine adjustments needed to number of departures

Reviews bookings made on a daily basis to determine need for inventory adjustments

Collaborates with Yield Management to conduct analysis by tour series and review forecasts

Supports Yield Management in reporting and analyzing the forecasted load for each departure date and makes adjustments to support Revenue Management load goals

Evaluates and actions reports and recommendations from Align Alytic Yield Management System

Assesses discount strategies and implements changes to improve load factors on all departure dates

Liaises with Marketing Team to ensure accuracy in marketing pieces as needed

Creates and maintains spreadsheets, pivot tables and data analytics that are utilized to aid in decision making on inventory

Reports monthly on Inventory strategic goals

Presents findings as needed to Revenue Management leaders along with recommendations

Identifies and reports on forecasted low load departures to pricing team to review for cost savings

Updates and maintains tracking grids to include but not limited to date process tracking and tour release

Support releasing product for sale to the company by conducting analysis of historical sales and margins to recommend guaranteed departures, available inventory by channel and group placement

Supports Inventory Specialists as demand warrants

Participates in special projects as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or related field

Minimum Experience - two years

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Utilizes independent judgement and decision making

Strong attention to detail

Proficiency in Excel

Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and self-motivated

Willingness to benefit from coaching and guidance

Desire to continually learn and improve their analytical and technical skills

Starting Annual Salary: $50,000-$70,000
