Job Summary:

Aero Mechanical, Inc., one of the leading mechanical contractors in the area has an exciting opportunity for a BIM/CAD Coordinator in our Johnston, RI office. Join our team of professionals as you apply your construction project knowledge and skills to provide administrative and operational assistance to the Project Managers to ensure efficient execution of construction projects while working on the job sites and in an office setting. You will work closely with internal project teams and key stakeholders to support seamless project progress.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

As BIM/CAD Coordinator, collaborates on project management with designers involved with model integration.

Attends kick off meetings with design and or operations staff at beginning of project to ensure Level of Development, scope, project details and contract requirements are understood before modeling begins.

Attends coordination meetings with GC and provides status updates.

Actively participates in BIM coordination and design meetings.

Reviews contract documents, identifies issues and develops solutions in coordination with the Project Management team.

Works with internal/external team members as applicable; checks shop drawings, conducts site visits, and assists others as needed.

Develops, manipulates, and maintains 3D models utilizing Revit for projects during preconstruction and construction.

Draws systems to specification and code requirements; provides information to Project Management team.

Runs/obtains clash detection reports, documents and tracks clashes, through resolution.

Reviews BIM model, makes/requests changes where appropriate.

Looks for more efficient layouts of piping systems when modeling projects.

Works with PM Team to develop coordination schedule and notifies them of any issues or schedule concerns.

Works with the Foremen to answer questions regarding layout, provide field support.

Identifies required maintenance and access zones to equipment, valves, or service access points.

Ensures hangers are located and coordinated with other trades.

Produces CAD coordination drawings for HVAC and Plumbing (Revit, AutoCAD, Navis Works).

Produces Electronic As-Built Drawings.

Maintains project drawings files and ensures field staff has most up-to-date drawings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge and understanding of BIM/CAD Coordinator and project management process in construction.

1-3 years of BIM modeling and coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering) preferred or 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit Navisworks, etc.

Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.

The ability to read and understand construction drawings is essential.

Must have knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.

Working knowledge of scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and MS Project 2013 is helpful.

Must have strong verbal and written skills in English.

Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without needing current or future sponsorship.
