Sales Engineer

The sales engineer will be responsible for the technical sale of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical components as well as Robots and Automation Solutions. The customer base is manufacturing and industrial customers in the territory. In addition to maintaining and growing sales with existing customers, prospecting and opening new accounts is required. Our typical customers are engineers, maintenance personnel, purchasing agents and business owners. To be successful in this role, 5-7 appointments a day is required.

The sales engineer will be supported by a highly knowledgeable management and customer support team to assist them in meeting and exceeding their sales goals.

Expectations/Responsibilities:

Responsible for selling services, and value-added products into current customer base and developing new business relationships

Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline

Talk with customers (virtual/in-person) to assess equipment needs, understand customer requirements, and provide sales support.

Plan and modify products to meet customer needs

Help clients solve problems with installed equipment

Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production

Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers

Stay abreast of current industrial trends, technical applications, products, programs, and services available to customers

Ideal Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Engineering education or experience preferred

Experience in forecasting and business reporting responsibilities

Good organization and time management skills

Experience working with CRM preferred

Successful sales experience in a relatable industrial sales industry

Strong LinkedIn presence

Non – Negotiable Requirements

3+ years of successful sales experience meeting or exceeding quotas as a direct contributor

Technical aptitude

Proficient using Microsoft Office products

Successful background in customer acquisition and retention in a business to business environment

Successful experience selling to multiple levels within an organization

Consultative sales experience

Training
