Seeking a hands-on Quality Manager for a highly profitable and growing manufacturer of electrical products and systems.

The Quality Manger will lead and mentor a team while enforcing quality standards, driving and continuously improving root cause analysis, problem solving, quality procedures/policies, and compliance, and implementing Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) and world-class quality control systems.

This position is based on site in Novi, MI

Responsibilities include:

Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality standards and ISO 9001:2015. Develop/revise quality standards, processes, and procedures as needed.

Provide exceptional internal/external customer service. Quickly and thoroughly investigate and correct quality related issues/complaints.

Supervise inspection and testing employees to ensure high productivity and technical integrity. Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures.

Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams and leadership.

Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing quality control objectives including ISO 9001 certification. Partner with plant management to coordinate objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.

Provide and oversee inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.

Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.

Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. Investigate, communicate, and correct nonconforming parts received in a timely manner.

Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams.

Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs and identify and lead change initiatives within the department. Identify and implement KPIs, improve the team’s RCA and problem-solving RCA capabilities, and drive the adoption and consistent utilization of best-in-class quality tools.

Provide expertise, and actively participate in the companywide safety management program.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field. Quality certification(s) a plus.

6+ years of Quality Engineering/Management experience, including leadership and employee development, continuous process improvement, extensive problem-solving toolbox, and implementing/improving QMS.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification required, Black Belt a plus.

Demonstrated success in coaching and training in problem solving methods and root cause analysis.

Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills. Strong written, oral, and presentation abilities.

Hands-on leader, mentor, and teambuilder who develops bench strength and top talent.

Highly analytical, with strong data orientation, technical aptitude, and critical thinking skills.
