Patent Litigation Counsel
I'm recruiting for a Patent Litigation Attorney for an in-house role at a company in Orange County, California. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of patent litigation experience and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Directly managing your litigation team, which could include inside attorneys, outside attorneys, paralegals, litigation support specialists, engineers and business managers
Developing and executing the litigation strategy, and independently managing all discovery efforts
Developing briefs, oral arguments and trial strategies, and generally providing overall guidance and direction to outside counsel
Assisting with efficiency and other improvements within the department
Providing counseling to the various business units on significant legal matters.
Qualifications
Stellar oral and written advocacy skills
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering required
8+ years of litigation experience with significant experience with most or all of the areas of commercial, securities, class action, IP and patent litigation and dispute resolution, as well as governmental inquiries and investigations
8+ years
Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
Experience in managing very large complex cases
Excellent teaming and project leadership skills
Ability to function and manage independently, but also work well in an environment that requires working with others to be successful
Superior judgment with the ability to understand the criticality and urgency of new and ongoing issues and prioritize them as appropriate within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, providing clarity and direction to the team and others throughout the company
Ability to find creative solutions to issues, taking a pragmatic, commercial approach in balancing legal risks against business interests
