As a Project Manager, you will function in a key leadership role and create the organizational structure for assigned projects. In this position you will estimate, schedule, forecast, and manage all activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. The Project Manager should have the proper knowledge of building codes and regulations associated with federal design-build construction projects (NAVFAC, USACE). The Project Manager will coordinate office and field activities during all stages of the project life cycle.
Job Duties
Lead and structure assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout
Conduct precise job cost estimations and efficiently manage project budget
Coordinate office and field activities throughout all project stages
Serve as a liaison between Clients, Architects, Vendors, Engineers
Maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant regulations
Conduct feasibility reviews and provide accurate project assessment
Develop and update project progress schedules, synchronizing material deliveries and subcontractor work
Manage Requests for Information (RFI) and maintain organized RFI log
Oversee bid preparation, job correspondence, and submittal control
Resolve scope and design issues in collaboration with stakeholders
Issue Request for Quotes (RFQ) to vendors and subcontractors as necessary
Attend and contribute to preconstruction and job meetings
Prepare cost breakdowns, review reports, and manage invoices promptly
Negotiate and facilitate change orders requests effectively and maintain accurate records
Stay updated on industry best practices through regular seminars and training
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
5+ Years of proven experience in construction project management
3+ Years experience with government contracts, particularly NAVFAC, USACE, and DOD projects
Proficiency in estimating and experience with RS Means
Solid understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques
Ability to interpret and analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team building and mentoring skills
Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to build professional relationships with clients, vendors, inspectors, and architects
Exceptional problem-solving skills, capable to addressing complex challenges effectively
