Vice President of Operations - Insurance

We are currently seeking a P&C professional with commercial lines, personal lines, or a life insurance background to take on the role of Vice President of Operations for a well-known Top 20 WDC regional insurance broker. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating all organizational functions across all departments helping the leadership team. This individual will be instrumental in executing the business plan, and taking this organizational to the next level.

Responsibilities include:

Drive organizational change through leadership.

Remove obstacles and barriers for the executive team.

Integrate a rapidly expanding organization in disparate product and functional areas including commercial lines, life insurance, and high net worth personal lines departments.

Develop operational strategy and executive the plan for the C-level suite.

Make C-suite executives aware of important financial deadlines and targets of the Company and that they are met and exceeded.

Oversee and lead an overall upgrade, expansion, and implementation of the Company’s operational infrastructure.

Manage and lead the Systems/IT (EPIC) department.

Develop, maintain, and measure operational performance against performance goals.

Provide strong leadership and demonstrated experience as an executioner of company policies and organizational change.

Qualifications:

This individual must have experience in the following areas:

Senior operational leadership or experience as a senior account manager with leadership experience.

Ten + years of experience working in an insurance agency/broker.

Success in motivating and mentoring staff.

The ability to enforce organizational directives up and down the chain of command.

The willingness and ability to extremely own what you do.

Demonstrated success as an Organizational Change Agent.

Demonstrated success in hiring, training, and developing staff.

Managing small teams in an entrepreneurial environment.

Success in developing, reporting, and establishing performance benchmarks to measure organizational and staff performance.

Project Management experience necessary.

Experience with EPIC is a plus.

Success in executing the operational plan from above.

A high-energy “can-do” assertive personality necessary to drive and implement change

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Targeted at between $145k - $185k with lucrative performance-based bonus.
