As a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) within the Power/HVAC division at United Rentals, you'll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification equipment. What you'll do:

Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and toolsReport machine condition to ManagementResponsible for service documentationOccasional travel to customer sitesDemonstrate equipment for customersTrain lower level technicians as neededAssist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & partsOther duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipmentIntermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systemsStrong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various enginesBasic understanding of schematics and diagramsOwn the tools applicable to positionSuperior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skillsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

What you'll do:

Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex Tools and Specialty Equipment at branch or customer locations involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoistingPerform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagramsAssist in the training of lower level technicians as neededMaintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performedWhen required travel to customer site for repair/maintenance of rental or owned equipmentMay assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repairOther duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty ToolsMust own tools applicable to positionAdvanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of toolsWorking knowledge of schematics and diagramsWorking knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers' warranty access; and work order/time spent accountingValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to coach and mentor less experienced service techniciansSuperior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skillsAbility to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
