Job Summary
We are looking for an Automotive Technician to join our successful service center.
As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. You must be comfortable using the dealership level software for BMW, VCDS for Audi and mulit-brand diagnostic computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems.
Our facility is located in West Sacramento, CA we are looking for an experienced German vehicle technician, knowledge of diesel technologies is a plus, we primarily work on BMW, MINI, AUDI VW, Mercedes-Benz, and Sprinters. Additionally we work on diesel engines of all makes. Responsibilities
Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
Functions as a skilled-level Technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, on numerous makes and models, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair.
Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols
Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Communicates with service advisor to obtain needed parts.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by customer.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Documents all work performed and recommended on repair order.
Road test vehicle when required.
Reference manufacturer technical bulletins when applicable.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensures that customers’ cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keeps shop area neat and clean.
Maintains and is accountable for all shop-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
Attends training departmental meetings.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports to work with a positive attitude, on time and ready to work.
Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is preferred
An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
Strong customer service and communications skills are required
A valid Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to our insurance company is required.
An experienced German/European technician/mechanic Minimum 2years experience required
Experience with Sprinters and diesel technologies is a big plus
