PART-TIME (24 -30 HOURS A WEEK)

SALARY:$48,000 to $50,000/ year + Commission

We are a 26-year-old Law Office in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Our practice is focused on immigration and auto accidents. We are looking for an ambitious, reliable legal assistant to work in our auto-accident department.

Although the position is initially part-time, it may become full-time.

DUTIES

· Intake auto accident cases, open client's files using office systems

· Assist attorney in litigation preparation, including but not limited to preparing complaints and discovery

· Prepare settlement memoranda (demands)

· Follow up and communicate with clients regarding their cases

· Communicate and follow up with auto insurance companies regarding cases

· Communicate with medical providers, order medical bills, records, and reports

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Prefered Two-year college degree (or equivalent) and/or a paralegal studies certification

· Prefered Two years of experience working on automobile accident matters, from intake to litigation preparation

· Typing and computer (Microsoft Office) skills

· Ability to use case management software (Clio or similar) to work on cases. Training will be provided

· Communication (written and verbal) skills

· Ability to quickly learn a new office system. Training will be provided.
