Job Description
The company's client base includes the US's largest holders of hotel properties across the US, Canada and Caribbean. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing hospitality renovation and construction projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Responsibilities
Establish project schedule and budget
Retain design team and other professional consultants through RFP process. Recommend qualified design team to owner/client via bid comparison process and contract with successful bidder(s)
Manage the entire design process to ensure design deliverables are established and presented in accordance with approved schedule, design is completed within budget, and confirm applicable brand and/or ownership standards are upheld
Retain a qualified purchasing agent to issue PO's for owner-furnished FF&E. Manage the purchasing process with agent to ensure all items are procured in a timely fashion and in accordance with design documents.
Manage the pre-construction process including General Contractor bidding and permitting. Recommend qualified contracting team to owner/client via bid comparison process.
Oversee and coordinate the construction process ensuring the contracting team meets all milestone dates and completes work in accordance with design documents and applicable standards. This includes coordinate with the hotel operations team to take spaces out of service if working in an occupied building
Complete the full project closeout process
Update owner/client and other applicable team members on the project progress via regular calls. This will include documenting all calls/meetings with written minutes in a reasonable timeframe.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field such as architecture, design, construction management, engineering, etc.
Prefer at least 2 years experience in the construction industry - preferably with a concentration in the hospitality industry
Candidates are to be self-sufficient and not require regular oversight
