We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Canton, Ohio. This role involves managing payroll processes for multiple clients, both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple clients using various software platforms like QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, and Accounting CS.

• Accurately calculate and input wage and hour data, including overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

• Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity in payroll systems.

• Stay updated on federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

• Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll-related matters.

• Generate payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies as necessary.

• Manage Paid Time Off balances for employees including accruals, usage tracking, and adjustments.

• Process payroll for both union and non-union employees, adhering to respective collective bargaining agreements.

• Coordinate payroll activities for clients operating in multiple states, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations.

• Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.

• Provide support during payroll audits and assist with resolving any issues identified.• Proficient in using Paychex for payroll processing

• Experience with ADP for payroll management

• Familiarity with multi-state payroll procedures and regulations

• General knowledge and understanding of payroll processes

• Experience with union-specific payroll procedures

• Ability to process biweekly payroll accurately and on time

• Familiarity with time and attendance systems

• Ability to handle payroll for multiple states

• Proven track record of adherence to confidentiality and data privacy standards

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Relevant certification or degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred

• Experience with payroll tax laws and regulations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
