Oversee the whole accounting operations which includes accounts receivable, inventory process, accounts payable process, finance and treasury matters, tax and government regulatory requirements; Identify and implement work flow improvements to strengthen internal controls and improve work efficiency; Ensure timely reporting and review of financial information.

Reports to HQ finance team and local GM.

Supervise external tax consultant’s work and report.

Job Responsibilities and Authority:

Supervises accounting members on the maintenance of accounting records; Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of recording receipts and disbursements into journals and subsidiary ledgers.

Check, monitors and analyzes the following reports:

Monthly accrual and amortization summary and journal entries.

Monthly Inventory excess and obsolescence revaluation allowance.

Accounts payable reconciliation report for both local and foreign suppliers

Accounts receivable / sales summary / aging report

Property and equipment list and related depreciation schedules under both GAAP and Tax

Prepares Schedule of balance sheet accounts and other applicable GL accounts.

Monitors issuances of new legislation, ordinances or operational guidelines as issued by government regulatory bodies to ensure compliance by the company with such mandates.

Assists in the preparation of needed financial statements for both internal and external financial and tax audits.

Assists in the preparation of annual income tax returns and reports required by government regulatory bodies.

Work as the company’s secretary to handle corporate affairs (i.e. AGM process, Company act compliance)

Assists in monitoring of different department and sections with respect to their compliance with their respective approved operating budgets and provides budget performance reports to applicable department/sections with recommendation on how to resolve budget variances.

Ensures all documents and procedures are in compliance with company policy, procedure and government regulation.

Assists in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to ensure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls including but not limited to budget, forecast, financial statements and alike.

Job Requirements:

1. Qualification: Chartered Accountant

2. Work experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience and responsibility in Accounting preferably in Electronics Devices Manufacturing industry

3. Working ability:

a. Oracle and Notes experience preferred but knowledge of other ERP management systems is acceptable

b. Knowledgeable in India GAAP and Tax (indirect tax and corporate tax) updates

c. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

d. Demonstrates strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

4. Work style: Requires the ability to work at both operational and on a strategic level to ensure that work will be done accurately, to detect deviations and act pro-actively

5. Good communication skills in English both oral and written

6. Work location is Chennai

7. Preference for candidates currently located in Chennai
