Mechanical Project Manager

Position: Mechanical Manager

Location: Corporate Office, Vadodara

Experience: 15+ years of experience in Project Mechanical with Chemical Processing Industries required

Responsibility area

§ Prepare budget & scope finalization of potential project having technical details (Layout, equipment list and MDS review) & project costing.

§ Review of piping / structural drawing, layout, verification of contractor bills and preparation of estimate.

§ Assists in preparation and implementation of Project Execution Plan (PE)

§ He may work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, as well as other departments for support.

§ Extensive experience in engineering, design, procurement and construction support.

§ Hands on experience in, material selection, sizing, selection and performance evaluation of Petrochemical, Chemical & oil and gas industry equipment.

§ Hands on experience in review of TBE, ISO drawings, 3D model review of new facility drawings with proper inputs.

§ Fully familiarized with applicable design codes and regulations in oil and gas, petrochemical industries like ASME, API and ASTM.

§ Experience in using customized calculation sheets for different design codes.

§ Ensure for timely delivery of the deliverables from consultant

§ Leading Mechanical team which includes – Process & utility area

§ Participate in the pre-start up safety review; coordinate with technical & safety team to ensure the implementation is as per Project Plan.

§ Coordination with technical, purchase, safety, operation & engineering departments for speedy implementation.

§ Coordination & support for commissioning activity with field trouble shooting of machinery.

§ Managed multiple projects and prioritized with changing requirements.

§ Can work effectively as part of a cohesive team or independently. Accustomed to work under pressure and to inflexible deadlines. Implementing the project plans with proper documentation.

§ Coordination with site team for timely availability of inputs in terms of Drawing, Equipment, Piping material for smooth execution of the project

§ Meeting with site team & contractor as per project requirement

§ Active participant in finalization of Mechanical contractor for Equipment, Metallic, Non-Metallic, IBR Piping & Safety related requirement.

§ Post Order Management with vendor/Quality & consultant for timely delivery of Equipment & Piping material.

§ Reading P & ID’s and Making BOM for Materials procurement

§ Coordination for Item Codes for New Items / Equipment / Assets

§ Coordination for Making PR / PO as per the BOM

§ Follow-up with Materials for procurement of Materials / Equipment

§ Follow-up with accounts & stores for bills / RGP / GRN / Move order closure

Functional Technical Knowledge Required for this Role:

§ A competent Mechanical Engineer with excellent communication, organization and co-ordination skills. Possessing a proven track record of detail engineering and executing project plan, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the companies’ procedures and safety. Able to ensure timely, safe and cost-effective design and implementation during the life cycle of projects from conception till commissioning.
