Overview

Lafarge Canada is looking for an experience Tandem Dump Truck Driver to join the team.

You will drive a truck equipped with dump body and transfer trailer to transport and dump loose materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, or bituminous paving materials. Haul and deliver materials to and from specified vendors and job sites including loading and unloading in designated areas.

Responsibilities

Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all haulage.

Performs walk-around pre-trip safety inspections. Identifies safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and areas where safety can be improved.

Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.

Required to understand general knowledge intermediate computer skills

Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with Company standards

May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting

Responsible for completing daily checklist, journal and reports

Continuously communicating with plant operators, truckers, quality control and dispatch

Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

Qualification Profile

Valid Class 1 Drivers License.

Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience hauling construction materials.

Mandatory drug and alcohol pre-screening is needed before starting work

Heavy machinery / equipment experience
