Marine Mammal Trainer

Responsibilities:

We are hiring a Marine Mammal Trainer for new program in San Diego, CA. Work will be performed onsite.

This role will have the opportunity deal with Naval Marine Mammal programs. Training dolphins and sealions to assist the Navy with mine counter measures.

What you'll do:

serve as a designated primary handler for multiple animals who require advanced training.

Serves in a team leadership capacity for multiple trainers or animals.

Conducts behavior modification and shaping of behaviors, while carrying out a variety of complex training plans.

Responsible for the development of training plans or tasks.

May lead a boat team.

Provide oversight and technical direction, in a non-supervisory capacity, to Marine Mammal Trainer II positions.

This position may require diving.

Qualifications:

What you'll need:

Education: 0 years with a BS//BA or HS education and 4 years experience

Clearance: US Citizen and ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance

4 years marine mammal training experience

Desired Experience:

Free release experience

Target Salary Range:

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
