Director of Internship Training and Open Rank Professor of Clinical Psychology
The Opportunity
The Florida School of Professional Psychology (FSPP) at National Louis University (NLU) located in Tampa, FL seeks exceptional practitioner-scholar applicants for Full-Time Director of Internship Training, Clinical Psychology, a core administrative faculty position within our APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program. FSPP is the only APA-accredited PsyD program offered in all of north and central Florida.
Successful candidates will join a cohesive faculty of outstanding practitioner-scholars who share a commitment and passion to training future health-service psychologists and providing psychological services in a diverse community. This is a 50% administrative/50% teaching, twelve-month, full-time position with assigned professional responsibilities for administration, teaching, scholarship and service.
Ideal applicants will be licensed clinical psychologists with experience providing supervision or clinical training administration to graduate level psychology students within an academic or clinical training setting. Ideal applicants will also have the ability to teach doctorate-level courses.

Our students pursue degrees from the National College of Education, the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences and the Graduate School of Business and Leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
Coordination and oversight of all Internship processes:
Oversee the coordination of the internship placements to assist students in establishing internship placements
Conduct multiple internship application group meetings
Provide individual advisement to internship applicants
Support students in the internship placement process including reviewing degree audits, CVs, cover letters, essays, site lists, AAPI application, and Time to Track hours.
Coordination of mock Internship Interview scheduling with faculty and applicants, including materials preparation and distribution
Manage problems related to training with sites and/or students
Conduct site reviews of APPIC sites for APA equivalence
Tracking and review of student evaluations, site evaluations, and required completion documents
Track and verify individualized professional liability insurance needs for each intern, submit for issuance and updates
Maintain communication with internship supervisors. Conduct visits to active and potential placements within the local area as needed
Maintain application, interview, and placement information related to internship sites for use by subsequent applicants
Provide verification of hours documentation as requested to licensure boards
Provide ongoing support and communications with site supervisors
Group and individual meetings with students for advanced practicum advising in preparation for internship application.
Coordination of weekly Executive Training meetings
Supervise the Associate Director of Training (ADOT) and delegate responsibilities to the ADOT as appropriate
Responsible for Clinical Training Manual Revisions yearly and additional revisions as needed.
Responsible for consulting on Training policies.
Coordinates communication between members of the Training Committee and policy coordination with Program Director
Participate in regular APPIC meetings as needed and awareness of APPIC policies
Teach 12 credits per year; develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught
Engage in academic advising for assigned advisees
Supervise doctoral dissertations and serve on dissertation committees
Participate in program assessment, student learning assessment, curriculum review, academic admissions processes, and other program activities
Participate in scholarly pursuits
Hold active membership in departmental and campus-wide governance committees
Meet agreed upon presence at NLU’s Tampa, Florida campus
Qualifications:
PhD/PsyD from an APA-Accredited program
License-eligibility in Florida psychology licensure within the first year of employment is required
Prior experience with quality assurance and policy development and implementation
Prior administrative or management experience in a clinical or academic setting
Passion for teaching and experience in graduate clinical education and training
Strong ability to mentor graduate students, particularly non-traditional students
Adherence to the highest level of professional conduct and ethical standards
Graduate and post-graduate experience working with diverse client populations
Demonstrated participation in scholarly and/or professional activities
Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
Professional experience in APA-Accredited practitioner-scholar programs a plus
