Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Overview:

Merit Dental in Sinking Springs, PA is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. The EFDA plays a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care by assisting dentists in various clinical procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, patient care skills, and administrative capabilities to deliver exceptional dental services efficiently. As part of the clinical team, you'll work alongside dentists and specialists, assisting in a wide range of dental procedures and treatments. Your expertise as an EFDA will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of clinical tasks, from assisting during procedures to performing expanded functions permitted by state regulations.

Schedule (days/hours):

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7am-4:30pm Friday 7am-12pm

Responsibilities:

Preparing patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures

Helping to educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies

Improving oral health, solving dental challenges and bettering smiles every day

Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.

Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent credential required.

X-ray certification in accordance with state regulations.

Proficiency in dental software for patient records and scheduling (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining professionalism at all times.
