Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Drive Patient to and from scheduled destinations

· Maintain a safe and clean vehicle free of odors (Smoke-free vehicle).

· Communicate with dispatch team as required and promptly respond to instructions.

· Complete each transport safely while following federal, state, and local laws and in accordance with company policies and rules.

· Properly document each trip per policies and procedures in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

License / Certificates:

Connecticut Driver’s license with Endorsement (V) required with a clean driving record.

CPR/First Aid/Defensive Driving certified are preferred but not required.

Medical Examiner Certificate required.

Requirements:

· Must have a Smartphone.

· Must be dependable and punctual

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen as condition of employment

· Must be able to pass a motor vehicle background check as condition of employment

· Must be 25+ due to insurance regulations

· Available to work some nights and weekends.

· Working holidays is a plus

· Previous experience is preferred

· Will be required to complete necessary certifications within the first 30 days of hire as condition of employment if not already certified

Physical Requirements of the Position:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Standing/Walking:

Frequently and continuously when responding to calls.

includes: going to and from the vehicle and getting Patients.

Sitting:

Frequently when responding to a location, the individual will sit in the vehicle. The chair car vehicles are equipped with a standard installed vehicle seat. The time performing the sitting activity on a call would depend upon the specific situation.

Bending

Frequently throughout a work shift the individual will be required to bend to secure wheelchair straps.

Pushing and Pulling:

Frequently.

The activities that would require the most force in pushing and pulling is when moving or returning a wheelchair to the vehicle with and without a patient on the chair from their locations, and to their destination.

The weight required to push/pull will vary, depending on the weight on the chair.

Pushing and pulling is required when operating and closing vehicle doors.

Minimum pulling or pushing of patient weight is 60lb.

Maximum Pulling and pushing of patient weight is 500lb.Company Description
